Gina Tawn’s print reveals the view from the Old Man of Coniston looking over to Wetherlam and Black Sails.
Gina is a painter and printmaker working in the Yorkshire Dales and studied a bachelor’s degree in fine art at Newcastle University.
She often walks in the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, Scotland Highland and Islands, and the Peak District and her work is affected by the stories in these landscapes and the historic connections that have actually left their mark on the land.
Over the past few years, Gina has made wood inscribing prints to help raise cash for outside charities, who rely on a dedicated group of volunteers.
For the last two years she has actually made prints for the Mountain Bothies Association to raise funds for conservation and upkeep deal with bothies in the remote landscapes of Britain.
And a percentage of the Coniston print sales will go to the rescue group.
A spokesperson from Coniston Mountain Rescue Team stated the group were ‘thrilled’ to be supported by the artist.
Prints are £40 and can be purchased by contacting Gina at gina.tawn@btinternet.com
