Catbells lit up in spectacular Lake District Festival of Light

This year’s occasion raised funds for The Michelle Jurd Trust, a Cumbrian based charity which endeavours to supply outdoor chances for youngsters and veterans alike.

Neil Jurd, who established the charity following the death of his partner in a road traffic mishap near Levens in South Lakeland, stated: “This was a remarkably well organised occasion involving thousands of individuals.

“Matt and his team from Lakeland Mountain Guides develop something quite fantastic with the Lakeland Celebration of Light. The Michelle Jurd Trust funds experience and character education for young people in Cumbria, and we are really grateful that the Lakeland Celebration of Light is raising cash for us this year and next.”

The festival is held yearly and the dates for 2024 are to be confirmed.
