Children will be over the moon with Hey Diddle Diddle show at Keswick’s Theatre by the Lake

Children in Keswick are in for a reward this April.

Kitchen Zoo, among the UK’s best-loved theatre businesses, goes to Theatre By The Lake, on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 11-12.

It is staging Hey Diddle Diddle, a nursery rhyme cabaret for kids aged six and under and their grown-ups.

The hosts are Nero, the feline who plays the fiddle, and Lazzo, the little pet who laughs, along with our favourite nursery rhyme characters.

With looks similar of the Hickory Dickory Flea Circus and the popular dare-devil egg Humpty Dumpty, in an Elvis outfit, Hey Diddle is described as a “fun-loving, music-filled adventure”.

Bob Nicholson, the co-founder of Kitchen Zoo, stated: “We will enjoy going to Theatre by the Lake over the Easter holidays. We hope everyone will enjoy seeing a new side to some popular nursery rhyme characters.”

Every performance is relaxed, making it a perfect very first theatre experience for younger kids or those with extra needs.

Hannah Goudie-Hunter, Kitchen Zoo co-founder and entertainer, describes: “We want everybody to be able to enjoy the shows.

“There is no pressure to keep quiet or sit still– it’s too fantastic for that! We understand taking younger children or those with impairments to the theatre can appear intimidating for parents and carers, but we attempt to make it a magical event for everyone.

” We love to see and hear the audience’s enjoyment, and we can’t wait to get on the road.”
