Descend into a mine and see a different side of Cumbria during this exhilarating climbing experience. No need to worry about buying specialist equipment—helmets, lights, a harness, and Via Ferrata safety gear is provided. Along the way, pass by old mining tunnels, climb walls, scale bridges, and see impressive chambers on this underground adventure.
After putting on the safety gear we will walk the 10min to the start of the course, passing through some of the old mine tunnels. We then start a unique underground adventure inside the caverns of Honister slate mine. Similar to a Via Ferrata you will climb the walls, scale bridges and tackle wobbly ladders in this subterranean world. An adrenaline filled adventure climbing / scrambling activity that uses a permanently fixed cable for safety and protection up the rock face. This is the perfect activity regardless of weather.
