The Pennington is an historic inn with a contemporary interior, offering well-appointed accommodation and fine food from quality local ingredients just a stone’s throw from the seaside, the Western Lake District fells and Muncaster Castle.
Our bedrooms offer a high standard of comfort, with luxury bedding, soft pillows and tasteful, contemporary furnishings. The rooms, some with estuary views, are all individual and each has a flat-screen television, telephone and free wireless broadband internet access. The stylish en-suite facilities all have power showers, luxury toiletries and soft, fluffy white towels.
Most rooms can be arranged as either double or twin bedded and/or to be dog-friendly. Two family suites are available with some others able to accommodate extra beds, five bedrooms are on the ground floor, with one fully adapted for wheelchair access.
Extra beds are charged at £10 for under 12s and £15 for over 12s. For £10 per dog per night, you can bring along your best friend to enjoy the rolling hills and countryside of the Western Lake District.

The 3* Pennington Hotel in picturesque Ravenglass is the perfect venue for the more intimately-scaled wedding breakfast or reception.
Our restaurant can accommodate up to 60 for a formal three-course celebration menu or our seven-course Cumbrian tasting menu. Alternatively, our restaurant and bistro bar together will seat up to 85 for a buffet-style banquet.
We have a separate function suite for evening or private gatherings and, with 22 well-appointed ensuite bedrooms, offer your guests a luxurious and relaxing base.

Our chef specialises in fine cuisine with a Cumbrian twist using locally-sourced produce wherever possible. Table linen, use of our music system and use of our tableware etc for your wedding cake are included. Prices quoted are a base figure for parties of minimum 30 but we will work with you to tailor the menu for your tastes, for an event as individual as you are.
