Recently, we tested the Regatta Men’s Bainsford Waterproof Walking Boots on the Bassenthwaite Ridge Walk, and we were quite pleased with their performance. The boots boast an Isotex waterproof lining and hydropel water-resistant technology, ensuring your feet remain dry throughout your walk. The deep padded collar and tongue also contribute to providing all-day comfort.
When we ventured out on uneven terrain around Helvellyn, we appreciated the stabilising shank technology and EVA internal shock pads which delivered underfoot protection and reduced foot fatigue. The lightweight rubber outsole offered excellent traction, enhancing our overall confidence during our hike.
However, we did notice a few downsides. The lace eyelets seemed to grip the laces too tightly, making it somewhat difficult to adjust the fit. Additionally, while comfortable and lightweight, these boots may not be the most durable option for heavy use. Lastly, some users reported a squeaking noise with each step, which may be irritating for some, but this was not a deal-breaker for us.
