Young walkers on magic mushrooms rescued by Keswick Mountain Rescue Team

Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was called out at around 12.15 pm on Saturday by several worried people who had found the group on Newlands.

A team spokesperson stated: “Two in the group were feeling unhealthy including the driver in the party. The casualties were strolled down and offered guidance by the team medic regarding the timing of their onward travel.”

Eleven Keswick team members were called out for an overall of 2 hours.

Later in the day, the team were contacted us to help 4 walkers who were coming down the Styhead Tarn course towards Seathwaite.

One was reported to have had an ankle injury and another a panic attack. The group deployed but after a short walk from Seathwaite Farm the walkers were found after making good progress down the hill. They were strolled back to their vehicle at Seathwaite.
