Top awards for Lake District tea and coffee merchants
John Farrer & Co, based in Kendal, has been handed a trio of honours from the Farm Shop & Deli Show Product Awards.
It received a gold award for Farrer’s Lakeland Special Teabags and two silver awards for Farrer’s No 1 Blend Coffee and Farrer’s Westmorland Blend Coffee.The awards are now in their second year. They are evaluated by leading farm shops and deli retailers, leading wholesaler purchasers and owners and industry specialists, who intend to acknowledge and reward the best in professional food and drink items.

This year saw manufacturers from across the UK enter products into 11 classifications; beverages, chilled and frozen desserts, chilled deli, condiments and sauces, fermented and smoked foods, meat, non-food, plant-based, preserves, savoury biscuits and treats and sweet pastry shop and confectionery.

Rob Baines, Farrer’s General Manager, stated: “We’re pleased. Every award we receive acknowledges the effort and devotion of every member of our team and the passion we have for what we do.

” We pride ourselves on producing tea and coffee that people delight in. Carefully selecting the beans we roast and teas we source straight from little farmers who have carefully supported their crops that we develop into products for our consumers up and down the country.”
