King Charles III is due to be crowned during a liturgy in Westminster Abbey this weekend. But there’s a newly-crowned king revelling in his glory at a castle in Cumbria, more than 300 miles away, who could easily out-sizzle the top monarch.
Kenny Tyson, the King of Sausages, we salute you. Kenny, a Millom sausage maker, defeated the rest of the field at Muncaster Castle’s Sausage Festival, which returned for the first time since 2018.
Kenny, proprietor of KT Butchery, received the coveted Big Golden Fork prize for his classic Cumberland sausage. Thousands of people and sausage-tastings from butchers around the region attended the festival.
Families enjoyed a bouncy castle and other fun inflatables, while Tom Taylor of local indie-rock band Kiwi entertained the masses with live music. There was also a dog competition with a sausage theme.
