A Day’s Walk is a distinctive online shopping and delivery service as well as a brick-and-mortar Farm Shop Experience located in the heart of the Lake District. This business stands out for its commitment to local sourcing, as every product they stock is produced by a local farmer, grower, or business within a day’s walk of the Lake District. This approach not only reduces food miles, but also ensures that the food is fresh, often made in small batches, seasonal, and of exceptional quality.

A Day’s Walk offers a range of over 600 items, creating a veritable larder of Lakeland products. From rare and heritage breed meats from South Lakeland and free-range poultry from the foot of the Howgills, to artisan cheeses from Appleby and beers brewed with Lake District water from Bowness Bay, they provide a truly unique taste of the Lakes. Their offerings also include hand-toasted muesli from Wigtown, ketchup made from Lyth Valley damsons, and ice cream made with Lake District organic milk. Notably, they even stock Royal Warrant Morecambe Bay Shrimps.

In addition to their online store, they operate two physical ‘Farm-Style’ Shops. One is located at Holker Hall, South Lakeland, and is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10:30 am to 5 pm. The other is located on Church Street in Ambleside, which is open seven days a week from 10 am to 6 pm. These shops offer a curated selection of the very best Lakeland produce and provide a tactile shopping experience for both residents and visitors.

Every time you shop with us you enjoy a unique taste of the Lakes and experience a special connection with this beautiful place, its people and its traditions.

We’re open Wednesday to Sundays, 10:30am to 5pm at The Holker Hall Farm Shop, South Lakeland, and SEVEN days a week, 10:00am to 6pm at our Ambleside Farm Shop.
