A Day’s Walk is a new business established specifically to offer Lake District Visitors the opportunity to enjoy genuine local Cumbrian produce.
Every item we stock comes from a local farmer, grower, producer or business within A Day’s Walk of the heart of the Lake District. So its fresh, clocks up next to no food miles, is often made in small batches or is seasonal – and crucially it’s some of the finest food and drink in the land. Every time you shop with us you enjoy a unique taste of the Lakes and experience a special connection with this beautiful place, its people and its traditions.
We have more than 600 items of Lake District produce in our online store, including rare and heritage breed meats from the rich pastures of South Lakeland, free range poultry from the foot of the Howgills, artisan cheeses from Appleby, beers brewed with Lake District water from Bowness Bay, ketchup made from Lyth Valley damsons and even Morecambe Bay Shrimps! Fresh produce is picked up from the producer on the same day as your chosen delivery slot so you can’t get any fresher than that!
As well as a wide range of delicious Lake District produce we also offer specially curated one-click boxes for your convenience. There’s a Lakeland Welcome Box, a Mighty Cumbrian Breakfast Box, a Luxury Lake District Taste Adventure Box, an Ultimate Cumbrian BBQ Box and even a Cumbrian Afternoon Tea Box!
We’re open Wednesday to Sundays, 10:30am to 5pm at The Holker Hall Farm Shop, South Lakeland, and SEVEN days a week, 10:00am to 6pm at our Ambleside Farm Shop.
