The scale lanyard is detachable and has a safety release, it is also soft and flexible so you can use it to measure distance on your map wherever you are. Clear markings for the day and light activated luminous marking for night or low light levels, map-measuring scales in mm or inches and GPS scales 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 it can also measure 1:40,000. The Expedition S Compass also includes a magnifying lens to highlight map details, as well as a magnetic declination adjuster and a clinometer to measure slope angles
The mirror allows you to view the compass dial and background at the same time helps you to measure accurate bearings there is also a 45° angle assistance on the mirror sighting function. You will also receive a slope card for detecting avalanche risk and assessing the challenge of your route as well as measuring the added distance a slope will create on your travels. Take care in steep terrain as the risk of an avalanche increases if the slope is more than 30°, the slope card helps you look out for these risks and helps you navigate safely.
