This compass can be adjusted to use world-wide to find North whatever zone you are in; the global needle means you only need to set it to the correct zone to accurately navigate. There is a small screw set into the dial for easy adjustments.
The lanyard has an accurate two scales 1:25 and 1:50 printed on it so you can measure distances, it is flexible and soft so you can easily lay it over a map to measure your route. It also houses a small screwdriver which you can use to adjust the dial using the tiny screw, so you don’t need to pack a special tool just for that reason.
The Silva Ranger Global Compass is basic but has useful features like rubber grips to make the compass easy to handle even with gloves on. The luminous markings help you to navigate in low light levels or at night when activated in the light.
