A FAMILY are celebrating after their B&B was voted as being one of the best in the country.
Amanda Sarjant and her husband Mark have run the Haven Cottage in Ambleside with the help of their 15-year-old daughter since December 2021.
The small but luxury Bed and Breakfast on Rydal Road are the most popular stay out of 61 other B&Bs in the area, according to TripAdvisor, having accumulated an impressive 1,283 5.0/5 reviews.
Last week they discovered their accommodation had been awarded the Travellers Choice Best of the Best Award by TripAdvisor for the four consecutive year, as well as been ranked as the 14th best Bed and Breakfast in the UK.
They have also previously won a KAYAK travel award.
Reacting to the news, Amanda said: “We are immensely proud. To be ranked 14th in the country is an amazing achievement.
“We do our best to provide a great service for our guests who are coming to stay. We treat others how we would like to be treated if we were going away somewhere.
“We try to go that little bit extra to make their stay is extra special. We have a lot of bookings between now and the end of the year.
“Our B&B is different to others as I am a nutritional therapist. I use my knowledge to provide lots of different breakfast options including healthier options.
“For example, I make my own granola and bread. We also source organic nitrate-free bacon and gluten free, nitrate-free sausages locally. I try to find ingredients that provide extra nutritional benefit.
“It makes a huge difference to us when we get kind TripAdvisor reviews. We are very grateful to everybody who does it.”
