The Daffodil Hotel and Spa

The 78-bedroom hotel overlooking Lake Grasmere is an outstanding chance for the partners to create value.

The renowned four-star Daffodil Hotel & Spa has become Fairtree Alternative Real Estate’s third landmark property bought in 2022 by Funds arranged by Blantyre Capital Limited.

Earlier this year, the partners bought the premium Scottish properties Fonab Castle Hotel and Dunkeld House in Perthshire. The sellers were assisted by Julian Troup of Colliers, and the sale took place at an undisclosed sum.

“This is a significant individual hotel sale in the Lake District, reflecting strong future demand from customers eager to vacation in the Lake District,” he added. Since the beginning of the year, we have advised on 37 transactions in this region.

“It’s a strategic addition to the fund’s growing value-add portfolio of select luxury UK hotels operated by the Fairtree Hotel Management team, and it’s noteworthy that this sale coincides with the fifth anniversary of the Lake District gaining UNESCO World Heritage Site status.”

The Daffodil Hotel & Spa is one of the top, independently-owned four-star hotels in the north west of England, located on the outskirts of Grasmere Village with views across Lake Grasmere to the fells beyond. It is set in nine acres of manicured gardens and woods and has 78 luxurious guestrooms, high-quality bars, conference spaces, and the Spa at the Daffodil leisure complex.
