The slope card is an essential safety tool as it will help you to assess avalanche risk and avoid those avalanche prone routes as well as judge the extra distances when you are travelling up or down slopes. The soft lanyard has two accurate scales 1:25 and 1:50 printed on it so you can measure distances, it is flexible so you can easily lay it over a map to plot your route. In addition, the lanyard has a small screwdriver that fits the screw on the built in permanent adjuster for magnetic declination, so you don’t need to pack an extra tool. The rubber friction feet and grips give you good handling and stability even while wearing gloves.
